Waking night support worker.
We are searching for enthusiastic night support workers to help shape a new overnight short break service and day service in Sudbury, named Greenacres. We are a growing company, promoting person centred values and individualized care. You will support young persons and adults with learning disabilities, to live happy lives, close to their family, friends, and those important to them.
Post 1: 9pm to 9am – Sunday, Monday and Tuesday
Post 2: 9pm to 9am – Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Experience needed
Experience is not essential if applying for this role, but there will be a commitment to learn and study towards a level 3 diploma in health and social care after successful completion of your probationary period.
Responsibilities
– Supporting young persons and adults.
– Ensuring service users are safe and sleeping well.
– Undertaking health and safety checks
– Being a positive role model for vulnerable service users, encouraging confidence, life skills and a positive self-image.
– To have the confidence and patience to set positive boundaries for young people and adults that may have emotional or behaviours that challenge, helping them to explore more positive interactions.
– Contributing and encouraging a safe and nurturing service supporting the young people to develop social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
– Respecting dignity.
– Maintaining professional relationships with the team around the adult, as well as with multi-agency partnerships, parents, families and other stakeholders.
– Undertaking personal care needs.

Greenacres is a purpose-built facility for both day-care and overnight short breaks services. With 3 bedrooms furnished with specialist equipment and large activities spaces, Greenacres is the perfect site for inclusive, individualised care. There is also an established café on site that is open to the general public, enabling individuals with learning disabilities to access a shared community resource.

Greenacres is a new location in the quiet countryside near Sudbury. This is a purpose built facility for both day-care and overnight short breaks services. With 3 bedrooms furnished with specialist equipment, two large family / support group bedrooms, and large activities spaces, Greenacres is the perfect site for inclusive, individualised care. There is also an established cafe on site that is open to the general public, enabling individuals with learning disabilities to access a shared community resource.

Your responsibilities
– Staff management and supervision.
– Safeguarding.
– Report writing.
– Monitoring quality and compliance.
– To ensure all staff fully understand their roles in the context of supporting adults with
additional needs in a short break setting.
– To ensure that each young person and adult receives individualised care, and care
planning that is tailored to their specific needs and requirements.
– To ensure full implementation and compliance with statutory and organisational policies
and procedures, and provide feedback on the effectiveness of all policies and
procedures.
– To maintain professional relationships with you’re the team around the adult, as well as
with multi-agency partnerships, parents, families and other stakeholders.
You will need
– Registered Manager’s award
– Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (adult pathway).
– Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.
– Experience working in senior capacity in a similar service where there are
transferable skills.
– You will also need at least one year experience of supervising and managing
professional staff
